The Gardens at Pillar and Post

The Gardens at Pillar and Post is inspired by French impressionist painter Claude Monet’s gardens outside of Paris in Giverny, France. A large waterfall, mimicking Niagara Falls, sits next to a boardwalk for visitors and guests to admire.

Historic Downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake

The Heritage District in Niagara-on-the-Lake is made for walking, with its boutique shops, cast-iron planters bursting with flowers, and horse-drawn carriages transporting riders to another time and place.

Niagara-on-the-Lake Golf Club

This is known as the oldest golf course in North America. The course is located on grounds involved in the war of 1812. More than 135 years after it was established, the NOTL Golf Course survives in terrific condition, and much of it in its original state.

Fort George National Historic Site

Overlooking the Niagara River, Fort George was built between 1796 and 1802. This fortification served as the headquarters for the Centre Division of the British Army during the War of 1812. Take a step back in time by visiting this historical site to experience the early military history of Niagara.

The Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum

The Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum contains one of Ontario’s most important local history collections. Containing artifacts from Indigenous settlement to the present day, the Museum is home to over 8,500 artifacts, 41,000 documents, 4,000 photographs and 900 books. The galleries host a permanent exhibition, titled Our Story, chronicling the history of the Niagara community.
