As the founder and president of Institutional Connect, John is focused on developing and executing strategic plan, cultivating client relationships, and overseeing all aspects of operations. He brings 19 years of experience on client servicing and business development with specialization in working with senior decision-making level executives. Prior to Institutional Connect, John spent seven years at ALM Media Canada Inc., where he was leading and executing successfully the launch and expansion of institutional portfolio of events. John holds a Bachelor of Economics from East China Normal University and has completed Canadian Securities Course (CSC ®).

As a seasoned event planner with over 6 years of experience, Abbie brings a passion for creating unforgettable experiences to her role as the Senior Operations Manager at Institutional Connect. As a University of Guelph graduate with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, she possess a solid foundation in business principles that enhances her approach to each planned event. 

Abbie has a keen eye for detail and is committed to delivering events that exceed expectations. From concept development to execution, she works closely with the team to ensure the event vision is brought to life. Her expertise encompasses project management, vendor relations, and budget management. She has a proven track record for managing multiple projects simultaneously in order to meet tight deadlines. Beyond her day-to-day responsibilities, she is deeply invested in staying up to date on the latest trends and technologies within the event industry.

Jenny Ho

Event Assistant


Jenny Ho is an Event Assistant with Institutional CONNECT. Jenny encourages event participation on the asset owner-side, as well as sending event information communication and gathering feedback. She manages the brand’s social media platform on LinkedIn, creating content and image guidelines and works with Institutional CONNECT’s designer on website enhancement and improvements. She works to maintain the brand’s event app, Whova, and helps attendees and on-site staff during events to achieve client expectations.

Jenny is a recent graduate from the University of Toronto’s St. George Campus, with an Honours Bachelor of Science majoring in Economics and Statistics. She participated in a Cookhouse Labs Innovation summer bootcamp in 2021 to assist Foresters Financial Challenge using design thinking. Jenny was also Head of Human Resources and Event Planning as part of the University of Toronto Chinese Entertainment & Recreation Club (UTCEC Club). Jenny has been assisting event operations since September 2021, and joined the team full-time July 2023.
